Some Tips before your session.
This is going to be fun! Don’t worry, you don’t need to know how to model. I will pose you down to your fingertips and give you feedback the whole way including showing the photos I’ve taken of you throughout the whole shoot so you’ll know just how beautiful you’re looking.
If however, you’re the kinda gal that likes “homework,” one way to get super ready for your shoot is to do what I used to do when I was preparing for shoots as a model back in the day: 1) Check out this Pinterest board & study the faces of the models in those shoots, 2) Find a couple photos that really speak to you, 3) Practice the expressions in these photos in your bathroom mirror. Remember that modeling is something that takes practice just like anything else & that models have YEARS of practice. Don’t beat yourself up if you don’t look like a model. The goal is to have FUN while doing this exercise. There’s really nothing to worry about though because I will coach you on exactly how to pose.
So don’t stress! Now that you know how to prepare for your boudoir shoot you can relax and get ready to have an amazing experience. Contact me if you haven’t already booked an appointment. We will see you soon!
3-5 Days Before Your Session
1. If you wax or sugar, visit your salon or spa and have this done at this time, to give your skin a chance to calm down if you happen to experience any redness or sensitivity.
2. Exfoliate.
3. Time to get that mani and pedi!
4. Hydrate! Make sure you are drinking lots of water before your shoot. Hydrated skin is glowing & beautiful skin.
The Day Before Your Boudoir Session
1. Keep drinking that water. You are a mermaid.
2. Make double-sure your outfits fit and you want to wear them.

4. Moisturize that skin!
5. Get a good night’s sleep!
The Day of Your Session
1. Start your day off with a big ass glass of water.
2. Use clear deodorant.
3. Eat something light but filling. Trust me, you’re going to burn it off. I promise!
4. Wear comfortable, loose clothing prior to arrival to avoid having panties, bras, & socks leaving strange lines on your skin.. I recommend coming braless! You can change privately there.
5. Make sure you leave with plenty of time to arrive, because #traffic.
6. Have a blast! Remember, nerves are normal, but we get out what we bring into a session. So bring your positive affirmations, fearlessness, and badassery!
Some Do’s and Don’ts!
- DON’T spray tan or tan in a tanning bed prior to your session; you should come with your skin looking as natural as possible because that’s when it looks its most beautiful! Spray tans also don’t photograph well and turn out a really orange in camera.\
- DON’T try out a brand new cut or color before your session. Stick with what you know you love!
- DO get outside your comfort zone with at least one outfit. You never know, it might turn out to be the set you love the most, and in fact, most of our clients’ favorite images are the ones outside their comfort zone!
- DON’T worry about being nervous; everyone is at first!
- DO have an absolute blast and set your worries at my door.
Ladies... Don’t be that girl who feels she has to starve herself to look good in her photos – embrace yourself as you are, curves & all. Eat before your session as there won’t be time to take a break to eat snacks & we need to keep your energy level up.
Also, Your hands and feet will be seen in most of the photos so you’ll want to have them looking as gorgeous as you are. Check the bottom of your feet – are they free of calluses? If not, invest in a pedicure because your feet will show in the photos.
